Music Hall of Fame inductees named

The names of six inductees to the 2007 Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame were released Thursday.

Among those to be honored Nov. 1 during this year’s induction ceremony are singer-songwriter Hoyt Axton and his mother, Mae Boren Axton.

Also named among this year’s list are legendary Tulsa guitarist Tommy Crook, country music star Cal Smith and the late Sammi Smith, whose crossover hit “Help Me Make it Through the Night” earned her international fame.

The up-and-coming rock group Hinder of Oklahoma City will be honored with this year’s Rising Star Award.

Tickets for the Nov. 1 induction ceremony will go on sale Oct. 2.
