Jim Roller and Rita Feist were married Jan. 3, 1959, in St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Medford during a blizzard 50 years ago.
Jim and Rita of Muskogee are registered nurses. Jim furthered his education and became a nurse anesthetist. After hi career in the U.S. Air Force, Jim went to work at the VA Medical Center in Muskogee and retired in 1991. He then spent several years employed part-time in Indian health hospitals, principally in Arizona. He is employed part-time at the Triad Eye Medical Center in Muskogee.
Rita ended her professional employment in 1990 and has spent much of her time volunteering in various community organizations and at St. Joseph Catholic Church.
The Roller family includes four daughters: Annamarie Stewart of Muskogee, Janet Mavers of Broken Arrow, Jama Mitchell and Jennifer Gillespie, both of Wichita, Kan., and their spouses and grandchildren.
