Billy Gene Sanders and Helen Louise Frye were married on Sept. 7, 1951, in Chicago, Ill. He was in the U.S. Air Force stationed in North Dakota and Helen was working as a telephone operator in Chicago.
Please join the family for a reception to celebrate 60 wonderful years from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 4, 2011, at the Okay Senior Center.
They have lived in Wagoner County for 43 years on their beautiful farm. Billy Gene was a gifted teacher retiring from Muskogee Public Schools. He has been a successful businessman, rancher and mentor.
Helen retired from Southwestern Bell as a telephone operator. She has fed many kids in her warm kitchen and is famous for her pies, peanut brittle and sweet treats.
They have been longtime members of First Baptist Church of Muskogee. They are leaders in their faith and pillars of strength to their family and friends.
The family includes children, Dante Sanders, and significant other Pat Masker, and Renee Miller and husband Tony. Grandchildren are Dante Sanders II and wife Becky, Randy Sanders and wife Shirl, Krischna Spight, Micah Miller and significant other Mary Tatom, Angelique Martin and significant other Dustin Martin, Lauren Fleetwood and husband Jimmy. Great-grandchildren are Josh, Londen, Spencer, Riley, Sean, Mariah, Gavin, Micah Kail, Shaina, Kade, Christian, Jarrett, Carissa and Tyler.
